The girl in the red polo

I got a call while I was at work. My cousin’s husband said, Hey Neka not doing to good can you come down. I said I am on my way. I was unsure as to her state. I knew she was in the hospital but I thought it was not that serious. Let’s just say when I arrived and saw she was on antidepressants it got real REAL quick. I wanted to cry but I had to be strong so she could pull through. Now you are probably like why is this information important. As a child, I always wanted a sibling. My mother decided she was a one and done.  My want was granted by having a cousin who is more of a twin. I mean we are practically just alike. Our parents are twins, so you can’t tell us we are not. My cousin Jeneka has been on this journey of life with me since we were born just a few months apart. We have walked down every aisle together and stage. Well I'm not married yet, she is but that's not important right now. When I decided to pursue this business she said she would support as she always has. Never in a millionaire years would I have thought she would be the Brand Ambassador.  She exemplifies the art of #DoBetter and #EdifyandEmpower. She pushes me in ways noone else can. I feel a sense of comfort and home in her presence.  It amazes me how she continues to grow and get better everyday. Remember this: When people are down nearly on their death bed, they will remember what happened and who showed up. Prayer isn't the only thing that works, YOU do as well. Do not forget to SHOW UP when others need you. Don’t forget to hold others accountable when you need them.  Its reciprocal!  It is our solemn duty to come together for the greater good despite our differences and achieve a goal. It doesn’t matter how we get there,  JUST GET THERE. This blog post is dedicated to my twin Jeneka Young-Atkins. An amazing woman, wife, twin, mom, coach, chef, just overall person. I love you twin. Now grab a polo and #DoBetter with your LIFE!
