Listen and Follow

Ok family I am back. I am sure many are wondering why I only posted one blog in November. Let me tell you, I had great intentions. I actually planned what I wanted to tell you all but I did not write at all. Listen, November was a bit of a struggle for me with travel, school and my mental health. Trust me when I say I have missed pouring out to you all believe me. For those who do not know, I only write when the spirit leads me.  Let me clarify non-school related writing occurs when I am in the spirit and sometimes I am not in the spirit and can't find the words. O but now the words have come back.

During the month of November I remained thankful and grateful. That month I had several people who I consider friends tell me about future works and plans. Let me say this. With everything I have going on I want to connect with each of them. All of them have unique qualities that the world is just waiting for. I want all of us to work together, promote, encourage uplift and hold each other accountable. There are some babies( Dream, goals, passion, businesses, books, etc) being nurtured as speak and they will be born in 2019. My friends have some powerful testimonies and gifts that will challenge, motivate, uplift and change the world. How do I know? Because they are my friends that’s how. I can not be around people who are not positive and working towards something great. I believe in the iron sharpens iron concept and I need all the iron around me.

Over the month of November I was able to reflect some. It is mandatory you reflect and refuel as often as possible. During my reflection, here is what came to me. I oftentimes overthink and over complicate things. The plan moving forward is to keep it simple. Nothing complex, nothing extra. I realized that my brain does not do well with multiple things going on at one time. It makes my head hurt. I have to focus on one thing at a time. I am not saying do not try new things, but I am saying stick to one thing and see it through. Learn all about it before you decide to move on. I watched a Steve Harvey video where a 6 year old boy said he was selling ties to make money to go to college to get a job and buy suits so he can be just like Steve.  My God the boy has a plan. It is the simplest goal drive plan ever. It is his one thing.  He has started at 6 being an entrepreneur with the help of his mother.  It made think, what are we doing now to encourage our young people to be their own boss. What are we doing to encourage ourselves to be our own boss and build our dream? What plan do we have to get there and is it simple and plain? These are questions that need answers.

Over the month I also use some time to work on my mental health. Let me say that, mental heath is an ongoing process. It is not once a week for an hour. You have to do some real work to stay sane and make it to the next day. When my spirit says relax, I relax. When it says call someone I do that (This is a struggle). Sometimes we do not listen to our spirit or that small voice that says hey I really need a break right now. Let me show you how that small voice works. The small voice told me to call my mom that Thursday night before she transitioned, I listened. It was the last time I heard her voice. That small voice said call your father as you are traveling back home from Orlando, I did. Great conversation. We have not spoken in a while. The voice said call your sister. I have not spoken to her in 2 years. I listened. I do not have an answer for why I needed to do those things but I did them and they were hard. Here is our issue as people. Oftentimes we do not we read and follow instructions and we need to know WHY all the time? My question to you is Why? Really ask yourself that.  When you get a package that requires assembly, you really think you know what you are doing. You open the box, look at the picture and never touch the instructions. You actually toss them to the side and just go to work. In life we do the same thing but we oftentimes do not have a picture of the very thing we want. We discard all the methods of achieving greatness because we think we know what we are doing and how to get there. New flash you do not. You do not have all the answers. Follow the path and the instructions set forth. It is ok to submit to the process.  There is a lesson in the process. Stop putting things together that do not fit and you have an assembled item that is missing pieces. Your life depends on you submitting to a process, growing and believing you can get to the place where you want to go. You know you can #DoBetter, so stop pumpfaking with your life and JUST DO IT. #Nike.

  • Listening to the inner voice is imperative. I am learning to listen to my conscience because it’s teaching me to build or maintain those relationships with people. I’ve stopped trying to figure out why I need to reach out and just do it! Just like you spoke with your mom before she left this earth (physically) we just can’t predict when our last conversations will be, so we must learn to tune out the distraction of life and be aware of that inner voice! Mental Health…2019 will be the year of footwork in our community to educate our people about the importance of mental health awareness! Good job brother JT keep pushing and influencing those in your environment!

  • Submitting to the process is vital! “Stop putting things together that do not fit, just to have something assembled with missing pieces” (great instructions)! Continue on your path of greatness my friend :-)

  • You have a STRONG 💪 Story young man. Continue to put you First (the oxygen mask on the plane ✈️ in time of failure) because you have people who are Counting in you. Awareness of what we are missing and what makes us tick is imperative. Submitting to the PROCESS is Important.
